DUHON WINS CFP TITLE IN POCATELLO!
April 7, 2008 (12:35 AM EST)

Sean Duhon and Kevin King took the AMSOIL T-Maxx and Sudden Impact to Pocatello, Idaho with one goal in mind--to win the CFP Championship! King qualified fastest, with Duhon right behind him in the field, then Duhon took the title after meeting King in the finals! It was a great, close race and Sean spun some victory donuts for the crowd! It was not officially announced until after freestyle, but Duhon knew he was the champion after edging Rick Long's Bigfoot by three points.

"I just wanted to take it one round at a time and not get overconfident. I knew if I did that, it'd mess me up. Kevin was on fire and I was able to pull the win out at the end," said Duhon.

When asked what was next from Sudden Impact Racing, Duhon replied, "This is only the beginning; we have a lot more in store!"

Duhon added, "Thanks to
Brandon, Nesiah, Renee, Tim, Bobby, 2Daves, Zimmer, Elliott, Jeff, Robby, Dustin, CVH, and Kevin for helping me keep T-Maxx in one piece and looking good. Also I can't leave out all the fans and friends of Sudden Impact Racing and of course, AMSOIL. So thanks again to everyone for believing this could happen!"

Duhon took his racing momentum into freestyle and caught some massive air to go with a huge donut, scoring a 26 and setting the bar high for King. Kevin wheelied over and down one of the huge stacks on the track and kept his momentum up, finishing his run with a wild hit on one stack that broke his left rear wheel off completely! Kevin would end up in second place on the night with a score of 28. We have updated our photo gallery with all the shots from the night's action! Also, check out TheMonsterBlog.com's video footage of the event, including the full interview with Duhon. Congratulations Sean, and enjoy!

CORINTH UPDATE AND LAGARDE WINS INNOVATOR OF YEAR
April 1, 2008 (1:35 AM EST)

We have updated our Photo Gallery from the show in Corinth, Mississippi. It was a wild night, as Carl VanHorn and Jon Zimmer both put on several amazing freestyle runs, including a "Team Freestyle" after making the racing finals for Magnum Monster Motorsports. Carl had an amazing save that tore the bedsides off of the truck, and John had several amazing sky wheelies as well.

In addition, Team Owner Brandon Lagarde was nominated for and won the Innovator of the Year award at the Monster Jam Awards Banquet in Las Vegas this weekend. Congratulations Brandon, and be looking for more updates soon!

DUHON AND KING ROCK BILLINGS!
March 18, 2008 (12:35 AM EST)

Over 8,000 Fans PACKED the Metra Park Arena in Billings, and what a show it was!

Sean Duhon and T-Maxx took out Bigfoot in the first round and Kevin King in Sudden Impact took out Bulletproof, then
Duhon beat fast qualifier Rob French in round number two. Impact defeated Bigfoot after returning as fast loser, leaving teammates to battle it out for the racing win. Sudden Impact and T-Maxx battled, with Sean Duhon taking another racing victory!

It was definitely a drivers' course as they raced over then arena cross track's six-foot-high table tops. They would have to lay off going over the first jump, and hit second, then third gear to launch the second jump, and the crowd loved the HUGE air in racing!

Freestyle was where it was at, with a HUGE car-van-RV-van-car stack in the middle of the floor, a single car on top of one of the huge table tops, and another car-van stack on the other side.

French and King (old teammates) battled it out with some wild moves, going sideways and even backwards over anything in their paths! That single car on the table provided for some insane air, and the RV didn't crush' it was that stout.

Duhon went way big way soon, when he landed off his high jump off the center stack he blew a tire off the rim, but that made it possible for him to finish his run with a great cyclone!

"Kevin and I had a good weekend," said Duhon. "He's always pushing me. I think he got second in freestyle, but it was a good weekend all around."

T-MAXX GETS WILD IN CHARLOTTESVILLE
March 12, 2008 (12:35 AM EST)

Monster Jam returned to the John Paul Jones Arena on the campus of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia this past weekend. Carl Van Horn was there with T-Maxx to take on an elite field of trucks in the two-event weekend. Friday night started off with a strong showing in the wheelie contest, with Carl scoring a 21 for his efforts after standing the truck completely vertical and walking it across the cars. Van Horn looked dominant in racing, taking out Steve Sims and Stone Crusher in the first round, then Dennis Anderson’s Grave Digger in the second. In the finals, Van Horn would be just edged out by Sims in Stone Crusher, who returned earlier as a fast loser. The donut contest saw a strong second-place effort, with a score of 23, but an engine problem would end his night early.

Before the Saturday event, the team swapped chassis due to the engine problems suffered the night before. They re-bodied Jon Zimmer's Sudden Impact truck that was in the trailer with the T-Maxx skin and were ready for the night’s action. The night started off with a bang, as Carl laid down a spectacular wheelie during the wheelie competition walking the truck completely across the cars for a score of 25. The first round of racing saw a rematch of the previous night's finals, with Van Horn defeating Stone Crusher. A narrow defeat in the semi-finals racing Black Stallion was a wild one. A bad bounce on the landing put the truck up on the side walls, but Van Horn made a great save to keep the truck from rolling. In the donut competition Van Horn spun T-Maxx into a wicked tire-smoking donut to score a 29 for second place. Freestyle saw a solid run from top to bottom, with big air and another great donut to close out the run and the weekend. Carl and Jon are headed to Corinth, Mississippi next weekend; stay tuned for updates!

T-MAXX ROCKS NEW ORLEANS
February 26, 2008 (2:13 AM EST)

Monster Jam made it's return to the Superdome in New Orleans after a few years away from the city home to Sudden Impact Racing. T-Maxx and Sudden Impact were on hand with drivers Sean Duhon of New Orleans, and Kevin King in Sudden Impact. The Superdome saw some intense racing action on the new cyclone style racing course. Kevin King in Sudden Impact experienced some transfer case problems along with transmission problems ending the night for Sudden Impact after the qualifying round much to the disappointment of Kevin and his family who had came from Georgia to see Kevin race on his birthday. Sean Duhon in T-Maxx had a great night going in racing after taking home some of the fastest times in the following rounds before the USHRA Officials forgot to call T-Maxx out onto the track in the 2nd round. Disappointment struck as Team Owner, Brandon Lagarde and the Monster Jam staff worked out the issues in a professional manner. The Monster Jam officials apologized for the mistake.

Freestyle was T-Maxx with Sean Duhon driving get some good jumps going and great donuts to score a 21 posted by the judges. T-Maxx tied Superman for 4th place honors behind Escalade, Maximum Destruction, and Grave Digger.

Special thanks to all of the fans, family, and friends who came out to support Sudden Impact Racing in New Orleans!

SIR ROCKS WYOMING!
February 13, 2008 (12:13 PM EST)

The AMSOIL T-Maxx and Sudden Impact driven by Kevin King and Sean Duhon invaded Casper, Wyoming for another stop on the CFP Racing tour. Things started strange for SIR. SI went out and qualified 3rd fastest but broke a ball and claw in the process T-Maxx went out knowing Monster Moose and Bigfoot were gonna follow in qualifying and pushed it to the edge braking hard enough to almost touch the front bumper on the ground after the run and taking the fastest time by a half second. T-Maxx took down monkey n around 1st round while Kevin put Sudden Impact back together only to not make time by a mere 2 minutes. Sudden Impact did comeback in second round though to defeat monster moose only to again spit a ball out of the front axle this time. with fast qualifier and wining first round it put T-Maxx straight to the finals against Bigfoot T-Maxx left hard and fast enough to take the win by a half truck against the big blue ford. SI would come back for freestyle and had some of the best air of the night to score a 29 taking the lead until Bigfoot came out with a lengthy freestyle and a slap wheelie at the end to get a perfect 30 T-Maxx came out last to try and top Bigfoot's score but fell short with a 28 putting Sudden Impact and T-Maxx in 2nd and 3rd in freestyle.
Next week Sean Duhon and Kevin King will take the Monster Jam circuit by storm and invade Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. For more information, check out www.USHRA.com!

The Traxxas T-Maxx machine and the AMSOIL Sudden Impact monster trucks invaded Loveland, Colorado over the weekend for the CFP Racing Monster Truck Winter Nationals at the Budweiser Events Center. Friday night Sudden Impact with Kevin King behind the wheel claimed a 4th place qualifying while the T-Maxx driven by Sean Duhon took the number one spot with a save at the end of his pass. In racing T-Maxx took out Public Disturbance and then Bigfoot for the racing win! In freestyle King in Sudden Impact set the bar high with a great run with Bigfoot, Public Disturbance, Monster Moose, and of course T-Maxx still to go. In a good run, T-Maxx cleared the 6 car stack by an entire car to claim the freestyle win as well in Loveland.
(T-Maxx Freestyle From Loveland, Colorado)
Saturday night the crowd saw Sudden Impact take 3rd fastest qualifying time while T-Maxx took home top honors once again. Sudden Impact faced off against Monster Moose but unfortunately slung a driveshaft in the process. Kevin King vowed to return for freestyle. T-Maxx took out Bigfoot and then Public Disturbance in the finals. Freestyle saw King in Sudden Impact get another great run going while Duhon in the Traxxas T-Maxx machine did as well with sick air, cyclones, wheelies, and an incredible reverser! However, Duhon's efforts would fall short to Bigfoot after a crowd cheer off declared Bigfoot the winner.

Colorado Sudden Impact and T-Maxx fans are in luck as next week T-Maxx and Sudden Impact will be back in action in Colorado in Denver at the Monster Jam at the Pepsi Center! The Traxxas T-Maxx and Sudden impact invaded the HHH Metrodome for the Monster Jam on January 19th. Carl Van Horn and Jon Zimmer had the track dialed in with T-Maxx taking the fastest qualifying spot on the all new cyclone style racing course Monster Jam has just started to implement this year. In qualifying Sudden Impact of Jon Zimmer experienced rear drive train problems which would force Zimmer's truck out of competition for the remainder of the night. A frustrated Zimmer and disappointed crew vowed to give the fans one heck of a show in Indianapolis this coming weekend.

In front of 65,000 Monster Jam fans in the Metrodome, Carl Van Horn took down Kristy Edge in Jurassic Attack in round 1, Alex Blackwell in Captain's Curse in round 2, and then met up with Daron Basl in El Matador in the finals. In a good race, it was Carl Van Horn rising to the occasion in T-Maxx to claim the Minneapolis, Minnesota racing win!

(Racing Finals from Minneapolis)
Upon accepting his trophy for the win, Carl graciously thanked Traxxas, Amsoil, his team mates, and Tim Bush for helping him with the win. In freestyle it would be T-Maxx going out 2nd to last after a perfect 30 was posted by Alex Blackwell in Captain's Curse. Van Horn took to the track with speed as the fans heard the Holbrook Engine roaring, they took to their feet in acceptance of Van Horn's entrance back onto the track. Carl soared over the cars and buses before getting crossed up and upside down with time left on the clock. In an interview after the run, Van Horn thanked the Monster Jam fans along with his crew consisting of Jon Zimmer, Elliott Miller, and Steve Clayton. Carl ran into the crowd and high fived the awesome T-Maxx fans!

SIR STOMPS EM IN SOUTH CAROLINA!!
January 20, 2008 (2:59 PM EST)

To see video of Sudden impact's Saturday night freestyle, check out our video gallery!

Team Sudden Impact Racing consisting of Kevin King in Sudden Impact and Sean Duhon in T-Maxx invaded South Carolina for the CFP Racing Winter Nationals at the Florence Civic Center in Florence, South Carolina. Friday night action started well as Sudden Impact got the fastest qualifier in front of T-Maxx, who came up with 2nd fastest time. In Racing Sudden Impact would defeat Havoc but would lose to Clydesdale in round two. T-Maxx would defeat Clydesdale in round as well but would lose to Bigfoot in round two. In freestyle both Sudden Impact and T-Maxx would put together good performances with nice jumps over the vans with Kevin King taking 2nd place and T-Maxx taking 3rd.

On Saturday night Sudden Impact took a close lose to Bigfoot in the wheelie contest, some may still argue that Sudden Impact should have gotten the win. Just like Friday night it was Impact and T-Maxx in the top three, Sudden Impact qualified 2nd and T-Maxx qualified 3rd. Sudden Impact defeated Cyldesdale but was brought down by Bigfoot in round two. T-Maxx marched through the brackets and defeated Havoc and then Geterdone, and then finished with putting Bigfoot down in the finals. In freestyle it would be Sudden Impact setting the pace with some awesome jumps and great donuts, good enough to score a 28. Bigfoot posted a 28 and T-Maxx followed with a 28 as well, with a good run with donuts and slap wheelies. In a crowd applause, T-Maxx was declared the freestyle winner!

SIR INVADES VA!!
January 14, 2008 (2:57 PM EST)

Kevin King and Sean Duhon piloted Sudden Impact and T-Maxx into the Salem Virginia Civic Center for the CFP Winter Nationals. Friday night started out with Sudden Impact qualifying 4th and T-Maxx qualifying 1st.  Sudden Impact lost 1st round to twisted dragon but had one more chance as the fastest loser entering the second round.  King was just edged out by Havock in round 2.  T-Maxx defeated Bullet Proof in the first round, advancing to the semi finals to defeat Havok and taking the win against Get Er Done in the Finals.  In Freestyle both Duhon and King had awesome runs with big air, wheelies and donuts, but it was Duhon in T-Maxx in the end that took the win with a cheer off from the crowd.

Saturday show started out with King in Sudden Impact qualifying 3rd and Duhon in T-Maxx qualifying 1st.  Sudden Impact had a huge win over Get Er Done in the first round but lost to Havok in the 2nd round due to a transmission problem, and was out for the rest of the show.  It was a repeat in racing for Duhon in the Traxxas T-Maxx truck by winning his way to the finals and defeating Havoc to take the win again. T-Maxx had a great freestyle, keeping momentum, pulling off slap wheelies and donuts but it wouldn't be enough for the win.

Before the Saturday evening show, Duhon and King worked hard to change the transmission in Sudden Impact in less than 3 hours.  King in Sudden Impact qualified 3rd and Duhon in T-Maxx qualified 1st, but broke a rear in the process.  King would have a bye-run due to T-Maxx not making it to the line.  King would redeem himself and defeat Havok in the 2nd round and take the racing win by defeating Get Er Done in the finals to give Team Sudden Impact a winning sweep for the weekend.  Duhon repaired T-Maxx and returned for freestyle.  Both trucks got big air off the cars and impressive slap wheelies to get a respectable 2nd place for T-Maxx and 3rd place for Sudden Impact out of a field of 6 trucks.

Next on the schedule for Duhon and King will be Florence South Carolina for more CFP Winter Nationals.  For more information check out www.cfpracing.com!

SIR ROCKS NC!!

Greensboro, North Carolina Monster Jam fans saw Carl Van Horn in the Traxxas T-Maxx and Jon Zimmer in Sudden Impact take on Avenger, Grave Digger, Brutus, King Krunch, Monster Mutt, and El Matador over the past weekend at the Greensboro Coliseum. Friday night started with Van Horn and Zimmer taking their trucks into the air in the wheelie contest with great crowd response. In straight line drag racing, T-Maxx took down Avenger and El Matador to face off with Grave Digger in the finals. In a close race, it was Porter in Grave Digger taking home the win. Friday night freestyle saw Carl Van Horn in T-Maxx have a stellar performance with big air, donuts, and great momentum.

In racing team mates Jon Zimmer and Carl Van Horn face off in round 1 with T-Maxx and Van Horn advancing to take down Grave Digger and then Avenger in the finals! In freestyle Sudden Impact and T-Maxx had great runs with big air, wheelies, and donuts from both Zimmer and Van Horn.

Both T-Maxx and Sudden Impact will get new transmissions and converters along with matching motors from Holbrook Racing Engines.

Zimmer's truck underwent some extensive work as the transfer case was moved allowing more suspension travel. Jon Zimmer's Sudden Impact truck will receive a facelift for 2008.

Monster truck fans can catch Carl Van Horn in T-Maxx and Jon Zimmer in Sudden Impact in 2008 competing on the Monster Jam series at stops like Greensboro, North Carolina, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Indianapolis, Indiana, and the much anticipated New Orleans, Louisiana show in February.

The team is awaiting an all new Patrick Racing chassis also, which is expected to be done this week. A new shipment of Sudden Impact Racing tires is on its way from China and will be seen on all four Sudden Impact Racing trucks, including T-Maxx and Sudden Impact in 2008!

SIR TAKES WINS FROM FL TO VA!
November 19, 2007 (2:02 PM EST)

Sudden Impact Racing was out in full force for the last weekend of the year, competing in events in Orlando, Florida, and Hampton, Virginia. T-Maxx and Sudden Impact invaded the Hampton Coliseum and started things off on Friday night with T-Maxx defeating Grave Digger in the final round of racing for the racing win. Sudden Impact on the other hand lost a battle with Stone Crusher in the first round and broke early in freestyle.  Saturday night the Hampton Monster Jam fans saw teammates Sean Duhon in T-Maxx and Kevin King in Sudden Impact square off in the first round with King in Sudden Impact taking the win. Luckily for Duhon, he came back in the semi-finals as the fast loser to defeat Stone Crusher while Sudden Impact defeating Eradicator setting up a Sudden Impact/T-Maxx final round. In a close race, it was T-Maxx taking the win over the hard charging Sudden Impact. T-Maxx and Duhon were 2 for 2 in Hampton!

Meanwhile a little further south the Orlando UCF Arena shook with the sound of monster truck power as the CFP Racing series invaded the brand new arena with Carl Van Horn in T-Maxx and Jon Zimmer in Sudden Impact. Sudden Impact lost a transmission in the wheelie contest putting Zimmer out for the remainder of the 2 PM show for the first time this year. Zimmer was frustrated and vowed to return for the 8 PM show. Carl Van Horn in T-Maxx shot down Monkey'n Around in the first round of racing to then go on and defeat Twisted Dragon in the semi finals to set up a final round against Dan Runte in Bigfoot. In a close race it was Runte taking the win getting the better hook up at the line on the slick concrete. In freestyle Van Horn and Runte tied for the freestyle win with great runs and good air.

At the 8 PM show it was Zimmer back in action in Sudden Impact taking the truck vertical in the wheelie contest while Van Horn in T-Maxx blasted over the cars clearing them with ease. But it was Runte again taking the win with some good wheelies to seize the title. In racing it was Sudden Impact and T-Maxx facing off the first round with T-Maxx taking the win, but not at a great cost as the side wall on the right rear tire was completely blown out. In a matter of minutes CVH, Zimmer, and crew chief Steve Clayton swapped a tire from Sudden Impact to keep T-Maxx in the game. Van Horn went on to defeat Twisted Dragon and then Bigfoot in the finals. In freestyle it was T-Maxx setting the bar high while Bigfoot and Sudden Impact managed to tie for the win after much debated crowd cheer offs.

SIR'S OREGON TRAIL PT 2
November 13, 2007 (2:02 PM EST)

T-Maxx and Sudden Impact invaded Redmond, Oregon, for the final stop on the Oregon tour for Ladelle and Duhon. Friday night's racing started with T-Maxx taking down a turning pole inside the tight arena giving the win to Casey Ladelle in Sudden Impact who moved on into the second round but lost to a hard charging Iron Outlaw. SIR INVADES NASHVILLE!
October 31, 2007 (3:45 PM EST)

Sudden Impact Racing invaded the Nashville Super Speedway in beautiful Nashville, Tennessee, for the final stop on the 2007 MLMT tour. Carl Van Horn in T-Maxx and Jon Zimmer in Sudden Impact were driven to give the Tennessee fans a show and cap off a great season on the MLMT tour. During 4 PM qualifying Jon Zimmer piloted Sudden Impact to a 3rd fastest time behind Dan Runte in Bigfoot and Mark Hall in Raminator on the enormous 1800 ft track with the Amsoil flag flying high behind the Sudden Impact truck.

In racing Van Horn would advance into the 2nd round in T-Maxx after defeating Gun Slinger but came up short in the 2nd round match up against Mike Hawkins in Equalizer.

Zimmer stared his winning ways by taking down Madusa and then War Wizard to make it into the semi-finals to lose in a close race against Doug Noelke in TailGator.

In freestyle it was Van Horn coming out and getting some awesome air but having his run cut short in the mighty T-Maxx machine due to broken welds on the upper left shock mounts on the rear end.

After some great runs by Equalizer, Avenger, and Nitro Hornet, Sudden Impact with Jon Zimmer behind the wheel roared out onto the track 3rd to last and put down what some may say is the freestyle performance of the night. He attacked everything with speed and style and ended his stellar run with an incredible rollover attacking the tabletop ramp. Zimmer jumped out of the truck and the crowd went wild for Sudden Impact!

Special thanks to the MLMT staff for all of their hard work and hospitality on the 2007 MLMT tour. We're very much looking forward to the 2008 season, it will truly be action packed from the 1st race to the last.
